Leaked images now completely reveal the styling of the Datsun Redigo facelift and we really like what we are seeing. The interiors also see a huge step up and that’s a great thing.
Datsun revealed a teaser image of the updated BS6 Redigo a couple of days ago and while that revealed a lot about this new budget hatchback, there are new images of the Redigo on the internet that reveal the car completely. The Datsun Redigo has received quite a heavy facelift both inside and outside and that’s really a very pleasant change. It surely will attract a few more people towards it now.
As you can see from the images, the face of the Redigo facelift has been heavily revised. The hatchback now gets much sharper and slimmer looking headlamps and it actually has some similarities with the Nissan Kicks SUV. However, the new L-shaped DRLs are what really catches your eye and they have been very well pulled off. The grille has become much bolder and prominent and now also wears a chrome garnish around it. The bumper itself is much chunkier and sharper than before and they also house LED fog lamps which are a segment first feature.
The Datsun Redigo facelift also gets new alloy wheels, something we also saw with the updated Datsun Go and Go+. The outside rear view mirrors have also been revised (they also get internal adjustments now) and there’s a new plaque with the Datsun name on the front fenders as well. At the rear, the new LED elements inside the tail-lamps appear to be the only change. From the previous teaser image, were expecting a spoiler and roof rails but now, we think they are rather a part of some accessory package. The hatchback will also get two new color options – Blue and Brown – and it will also comply with the latest crash test norms.

Just like the outside, the insides have been heavily updated as well and its certainly very pleasing to see that. There are new grey and silver inlays on the dashboard that really ups the appeal of the cabin. The biggest talking point however is the addition of a new 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Further, the seats now get a new dual-tone fabric along with a new fabric trim for the door pads as well. Other notable additions includes a passenger-side airbag, retractable rear seat belts and a reversing camera.

Both the engines come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox while the latter can also be had with a AMT gearbox. The Datsun Redigo’s primary rivals in the Indian market include the Maruti Suzuki Alto and the Renault Kwid. Top-end variants of the Redigo will even go against the base variants of the Maruti Suzuki Espresso as they are priced is near about the same region. Like before, the Redigo is expected to continue with an aggressive price tag. Prices and the certified fuel efficiency figures for the updated Redigo are likely to be revealed soon.
