Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the World Car Of The Year Awards were declared by the jurors over a video conference call. A first time for Kia was Telluride winning the WCOTY award. World’s most prestigious car award goes to the big Telluride, which is one of the most popular models from the South Korean manufacturer.
It’s another car that made to the WCOTY nominee’s list was the Kia Seltos. A completely new model, Seltos has received a lot of attraction around the globe. The Indian market got the SUV last year that now goes against Hyundai Creta, Renault Captur, Nissan Kicks, MG Hector and Tata Harrier.

Before Hyundai launched the 2020 Creta, Seltos was the most feature rich SUV in its segment, even beating MG Hector by a whisker.
Telluride comes with a 3.8 Litre V6 petrol engine that produces 291 PS and 355 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to an 8-speed AT gearbox as standard. Kia has no plans to launch the Telluride as of now because it is highly unfeasible for our market. If it comes to India, it could go against Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.
The price of Seltos starts at Rs 9.89 Lakhs going up to Rs 17.29 Lakhs (ex-showroom). It gets three engine options including 1.5 Litre petrol and diesel units with a 1.4 Litre turbo-petrol. Gearbox options include a 6-speed MT, CVT, 6-speed torque converter AT and 7-speed DCT.
