Volkswagen T-Roc is almost sold out in India since it is a CBU model. The compact SUV is priced at Rs 19.99 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
Volkswagen recently launched the T-Roc SUV in India for Rs 19.99 Lakhs. It was launched just before the lockdown and that’s why the deliveries have been delayed. Now, in a recent interview, one of its top officials has confirmed that T-Roc is almost sold out.
T-Roc is a popular model in the global markets. When VW announced that it will be launched in India, many buyers were attracted towards it. It comes through the CBU route in India and that’s why, VW can only sell 2,500 of those in a year.
These were just the introductory prices and VW earlier stated that the prices will increase. However, the new report says that they are actually considering building the T-Roc in India. If that happens, it could be offered with more variants and will also be much cheaper.

Volkswagen launched the Tiguan All-Space and T-Roc through the CBU route just to check how they perform in our market. Based on their assessment, T-Roc is doing better than expected. In just more than a month of launch, it is almost sold out.
T-Roc is a direct rival to Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta, but due to its pricing, it goes against the likes of MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Hyundai Tucson and Jeep Compass. With local assembly, its prices could start off for as low as Rs 12 to 13 Lakhs going up to Rs 17 Lakhs. We are assuming once locally built, it may be offered in more than one variant.
As of now, T-Roc comes in a single fully loaded top-end trim. It gets features such as Active Cylinder Technology (ACT), LED headlamps, panoramic sunroof, digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment and more.
