The interior of Kia Sonet has been leaked online, indicating that it will get many bits from Seltos. The SUV is scheduled to be launched in August.
At the 2020 Auto Expo, Kia showcased the Sonet sub-compact SUV and launched the Carnival as well. The former was showcased in a concept form but not too different from what its actual production version could look like. Most of the styling bits will be retained.
Now, a spy shot of the interior of Kia Sonet has been leaked online. First impressions indicate that it will get many things from Seltos but will have completely different interior design. Unlike the classy cabin of its elder sibling, Sonet will carry on a funky design.
You can see that the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment has been retained, so is the flat-bottom steering wheel. The gearbox setup and bottom part of the centre console is also quite similar to Seltos. Kia Sonet sports an all-black interior theme with silver accents.

What’s different is the AC control centre. Sonet gets vertically-shaped AC vents that have switches between them. The switches are also different from what we see in most of the cars. Just like Seltos, Sonet is also on the way to create a new benchmark in cabin design.
Features onboard will include an electric sunroof, cruise control, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment with UVO connect, wireless charger, LED headlamps, Bose Sound System and ambient lighting. It might possibly get a couple of features more than Venue.
Safety features onboard could include six airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, rear parking camera and disc brakes on all four wheels. Technically, Sonet is based on the platform of Venue itself with some structural and cosmetic changes.
Sonet will be offered with three engines. First, the base variants will come with a 83PS producing 1.2 Litre four-cylinder petrol engine, 100 PS producing 1.5 Litre diesel engine and a 120 PS producing 1.0 Litre three-cylinder turbo petrol. Transmission options could include a 6-speed MT for all the engines along with a 7-speed DCT and a 6-speed AT options for turbo petrol and diesel variants.
