Tata has silently upgraded the Nexon with a new XZ+ (S) variant which sits below the top-spec XZ+ variant. It is available in manual and AMT transmissions.
Tata launched the Nexon facelift in January this year, with subtle cosmetic tweaks, BS6 compliant engines and many new features. The price range of Nexon starts at Rs 6.95 Lakhs up to Rs 11.20 Lakhs for the petrol variants and Rs 8.45 Lakhs up to Rs 12.70 Lakhs for the diesel ones.
Now, Tata Motors has silently launched a new XZ+(S) variant of Nexon, which is placed just below the top-spec XZ+(O). It is the second in line variant now and gets most of the features from the top-spec variant except one.
Variants | Petrol | Diesel |
XZ+(S) | 10,10,000 | 11,60,000 |
XZ+(S) Dual Tone | 10,30,000 | 11,80,000 |
AMT | 10,70,000 | 12,20,000 |
AMT Dual Tone | 10,90,000 | 12,40,000 |

Tata Nexon XZ+(S) variant just loses out on the connected car technology which includes remote vehicle control, live vehicle diagnostics, vehicle live location and geo-fence, valet mode and trip analytics and tribes. Rest of the features from the top-spec XZ+(O) are retained.
For you reference, here is the revised variant wise price list of Nexon:
Variants | Petrol | Diesel |
XE | 6.95 Lakhs | 8.45 Lakhs |
XM | 7.70 Lakhs | 9.20 Lakhs |
XMA | 8.30 Lakhs | 9.80 Lakhs |
XZ | 8.70 Lakhs | 10.20 Lakhs |
XZ+ | 9.50 Lakhs | 11 Lakhs |
XZ+ DT | 9.70 Lakhs | 11.20 Lakhs |
XZA+ | 10.10 Lakhs | 11.60 Lakhs |

XZA+ (O) DT | 11.20 Lakhs | 12.70 Lakhs |
As you can see, the XZ+ (S) and XZA+ variants come at the same price. From the XZ+ to the top-end XZA+ (O) DT, there’s hardly Rs 10,000 to Rs 30,000 price difference between each variant. This helps the buyer to have more options in his kitty.
BS6 Nexon continues with the same 1.2 Litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine and 1.5 Litre four-cylinder turbo diesel. The petrol engine now produces 120 PS instead of earlier 110 PS, with the same 170 Nm torque. The diesel engine continues to produce 110 PS and 260 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed AMT.
Features on the Nexon facelift include cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, an electric sunroof, upgradations for its Harmon-Kardon touchscreen infotainment, projector headlamps and the semi-digital speedometer from Altroz. The XZ+ trim, when compared to the XZ+(S), misses out on electric sunroof, cruise control, automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers.
