Hyundai has advanced the launch of the new Creta by a day due to outbreak of Coronavirus. The company will invite the media in small batches for a look at the SUV to avoid a large gathering of crowd.
Hyundai has advanced the market launch and price announcement of the second-gen Creta in India by one day. The new Hyundai Creta will see its market launch in India on March 16, as opposed to the previous March 17 launch date. This move comes across due to the outbreak of Coronovirus which has disrupted the automobile industry by quite some bit.
Hyundai will be inviting the media in small batches at the launch venue to have a look at the SUV. This has been done to keep large crowds from gathering at a particular place. The Coronavirus (COVID-19) has spread far and wide across the globe, with more cases being reported everyday throughout India as well.
As for the Creta itself, it has already garnered great reception among the Indian audience. In just two weeks, the SUV has crossed over 10,000 bookings. Bookings for the new 2020 Hyundai Creta had begun on March 2, and the SUV has reached quite a few dealerships already. Dealers are saying that the deliveries should commence by the first week of April. Test-drives for the new Creta are expected to begin in the coming days.
Recently, the brochure of new Creta disclosed the colour options, engine details and the features list. There are many segment-first features added here to make it an even better feature-rich SUV than Hector and Seltos. New features onboard will include a panoramic sunroof, cruise control, paddle shifters, Bose Premium sound system, Electric Parking Brake, Blue Link technology, Remote Engine Start, Rear Disc brakes and a whole lot more.

The new Creta will borrow its engines from Seltos, including the 1.5 Litre diesel, 1.5 Litre petrol and the 1.4 Litre turbo-petrol. The diesel and petrol produce 115 PS while the turbo petrol produces 143 PS. The gearboxes will remain the same too; diesel with the 6-MT and 6-AT, petrol with 6-MT and CVT and turbo petrol with 6-MT and 7-DCT.

For safety purposes, the Creta will get six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC and VSM, front and rear disc brakes, rear parking sensors, rear parking camera and ISOFIX. Also, it is about to get three traction control modes – Snow, Sand and Mud. All these features packed in the 2020 Hyundai Creta will make it another VFM car. Expect the prices to start off at Rs 10 Lakhs going all the way up to Rs 17 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). It will now move an inch closer to the competition with MG Hector and Tata Harrier.
