MG has confirmed that it will launch the Hector Plus by towards the end of this year, in Q3. It will come in as a 7-seater as well as a 6-seater.
MG has now revealed the launch plans of the Hector Plus. It was unveiled at the Auto Expo 2020, but its details have not been revealed. While we were expecting it to be launched a month or two after the Expo, it’s launch will happen by November-December period.
MG Hector Plus 6-seater gets individual captain seats on the second row and a bench on the third. The 7-seater, which was not showcased at the Auto Expo, will get a bench for the second row as well. The dimensions have been altered slightly but the wheelbase remains the same.
It gets some cosmetic upgrades as well, to differentiate it from Hector. There’s a completely new front portion with slightly revised bumpers and chrome detailing. At the back as well, there are minor changes made to the bumper.

The interiors of the SUV have not been revealed officially. MG will officially reveal the details, dimensions and interiors closer to the launch. Also, the 7-seater version of the SUV will directly be seen at the launch period.
There are chances of it getting a new SAIC-developed 2.0 Litre twin-turbo-diesel engine. Right now, it uses the FCA-sourced motor, which produces 170 BHP and 350 Nm. The new engine is used in the global markets and is powerful, producing 218 BHP and 400 Nm.
The other two petrol and petrol-hybrid engines will be retained. The engine, in both the configurations, produces 143 BHP and 250 Nm of torque. The power figures will also be kept the same and so will be the gearbox options.

With the launch of MG Hector Plus, the manufacturer is enter into another segment. It will then rival the likes of Honda CR-V, Isuzu MU-X and Mahindra Alturas G4. Expect it to be priced starting from around 15 Lakhs up to Rs 22 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
