BMW will soon be launching the X1 facelift in India on March 5, 2020. The new BMW X1 facelift comes with a whole host of updates which includes new BS6 complaint petrol and diesel engines and also several cosmetic changes on the outside and the inside. It packs in some new features as well. Let’s look at the new BMW X1 facelift in a little more detail.
In terms of exterior styling, the new X1 sees plenty of changes. The SUV now gets a larger version of BMW’s signature kidney grille and that’s no surprise at all. The front and rear bumpers have also been revised and they look more sporty and aggressive with those angular fog lamp housings. While the headlight mount remains the same as before, the headlight units themselves get a new design with double-barrel LEDs borrowed from newer BMWs.
The range topping X1 M Sport variants will boast of an even more aggressive chin design. They will also come with larger disc brakes and new color options. There are new alloy wheel designs across the range as well. On the inside, the changes will just be limited to new upholstery and better quality of materials. The interiors will otherwise remain unchanged. The top-spec variants of the X1 will however see some major additions in the form of a panoramic sunroof and a 10.25-inch infotainment system. The equipment list otherwise remains unchanged.

Under the hood, the BMW X1 facelift will get BS6 compliant versions of its current engines. There’s a 2.0L, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that puts out 192hp and 280Nm of peak torque in BS4 spec. There’s also a 2.0L, four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine which produces 190hp and 400Nm of torque. The output figures are expected to remain identical in BS6 spec as well. Both units will come paired with an 8-speed torque converter automatic, but, like on the current model, only the diesel will get the option of all-wheel-drive.
