The Volkswagen ID Crozz Concept essentially previews the ID.4 SUV-Coupe but there’s no word if VW will launch their ID range of electric vehicles in India.
Volkswagen has showcased the ID Crozz Concept at the 2020 Auto Expo which essentially previews the VW ID.4 which is the second model in VW’s ID electric vehicle range following the ID.3 hatchback. The ID Crozz is essentially a SUV-Coupe and it has plenty of styling elements that we have already seen on the ID.3 hatchback.
The most attractive element of the ID Crozz Concept are the connected headlamps on the front with the illuminated VW logo. The car gets a muscular bonnet with sharp contours and that gives the SUV-Coupe a really purposeful stance. The roof has been finished in gloss black for a nice contrasting effect.
It is when you see this car in profile, you notice the sloping roofline which flows cleanly to the raked tail gate. The sharp lines, creases and flared wheel arches add a lot of character. At the rear, the ID Crozz gets connected tail lamps with an illuminated VW logo, just like the front of the car.
On the inside, the ID Crozz interiors have been conceived as an ‘Open Space’ with a really vast amount of space. There are no B-Pillars as the car gets large swinging and sliding doors. The interiors are pretty futuristic like you would expect from a concept car and only gets a digital screen on the dashboard with an unique looking steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster behind it. There’s even a voice assistant with which you can open or close your door and also activate/de-activate the auto pilot system.

The Volkswagen ID.4 will also be underpinned by the MEB electric platform, just like the ID.3. Under the hood, it will be powered by two electric motors that could have a combined power output of more than 300 PS and 320 Nm of torque. It has a top-speed of 180 kph.. The two electric motors will likely be placed on each axle to give it an all-wheel drive system. The ID.4 is expected to have a large battery with range of up to 500 km and fast charging capability as well that tops up the battery for a range of 290 km in just 30 mins.

The Volkswagen ID.4 will debut in production form in the later half of the year. Volkswagen hasn’t said anything about it actually being launched in India, but considering a showcase at the Auto Expo, could it be in the line? We will have to wait and find out.
