The Tata Tiago and Tigor facelift follow the new Impact 2.0 Design language and will get new features along with BS6 compliant petrol engine but no diesel engine.
Tata Motors has quite an eventful day on the 22nd of January. We have already reported to you that Tata Motors will be launching the Altroz hatchback and the Nexon facelift on January 22. Along with that, Tata will also be launching the BS6 compliant Tigor and Tiago facelift in India. Bookings for the updated duo have been open since last week, with the booking amount set at Rs 11,000.
Both the Tata Tiago and Tigor facelifts follow Tata’s new Impact Design 2.0 design language. The facelifted Tiago and Tigor have a front side inspired by the Altroz’s, with a chrome-lined grille and a raised bonnet. Both, the Tiago and Tigor facelifts, sport redesigned headlights and a new grille incorporating several Y-shaped elements, while the latter also sports LED DRLs mounted in the front bumper.
Tata has also confirmed that the facelifted models will gain on the features front as well and that it will be pricier than the BS4 spec versions of both the models. The company however hasn’t shared any specific details about the new features. Along with exterior changes, both the cars will see some revisions on the interiors as well. Tata has also said it will roll out its ‘ZConnect’ connected car technology across its range in a phased manner, but it’s unclear if the facelifted models will be available with the same at the time of launch.

The Tata Tiago and Tigor facelift will be powered by the same 1.2 liter three-cylinder petrol engines, albeit in BS6 guise. Tata hasn’t announced the specifications of the engines in their BS6 guise but in BS4 spec, the engine produces 85bhp of power and 114 Nm of peak torque. Tata will not offer a diesel engine on either the Tiago or Tigor facelift as they have decided to discontinue diesel engines on their small cars. A 5-speed manual gearbox will be offered along with the option of an AMT. A CNG variant could also follow sometime in the future.

With the BS6 upgrade, new styling and new features, the prices for the Tiago and Tigor facelift will certainly go up. We are expecting the hike to be by Rs. 60,000-Rs 90,000 for each of the models. With four new cars coming up in a couple of days and the Nexon EV scheduled for a launch on January 28, Tata Motors will have a completely refreshed lineup in India very soon. They have a couple of interesting cars lined up for the 2020 Auto Expo as well.
