New Hyundai MPV has been spotted testing in the international markets. Hyundai could place this as an ideal competitor for Toyota Innova, Marazzo and Ertiga.
Hyundai had earlier revealed its plans for the MPV space in the coming years. While its sister brand Kia is launching the Carnival in the 25 Lakh plus space, Hyundai has plans for something more affordable.
In the South Korean market, Hyundai has commenced the testing of its upcoming MPV. Clearly, it does not feel like a rebadged Kia Carnival but something new. The spied test mule can be seen wearing the new Hyundai design language, with the five-spoke alloy wheels and the huge front grille.
Interior spy shots reveal that the Hyundai MPV gets a unique dashboard and a flat-bottom steering wheel and use of brown leather. The spied test mule gets the 6-seater configuration, indicating that this might be one of the top-end variants.

We are expecting Hyundai to bring this MPV in the 10-15 Lakhs range. It could be a fitting rival to the Maruti Ertiga, Toyota Innova Crysta and Mahindra Marazzo. While Ertiga is the best-selling MPV, Innova is also generating huge sales figures for the brand.
It will be interesting to see if Hyundai will showcase this MPV at the 2020 Auto Expo, in a concept form. Hyundai is going to showcase other exciting concepts, including a new electric vehicle. However, it will be first launched in the Korean market.
The MPV could use the 1.5 Litre petrol and diesel engines that will soon come on the Creta and Verna. Manual and automatic transmission, both will be offered for choice. Further, Hyundai could bring it in different seating options, like a 6-seater, 7-seater and an 8-seater for a wide range of customers.
