Kia is bringing in it’s second offering for India by next month. Kia Carnival is getting ready to enter the MPV space but towards the premium price range. For the time being, it would not get any direct competitors and will be positioned over Toyota Innova Crysta.

Here we put the Carnival against the Innova Crysta, to compare the dimensions, engine specifications and prices of both the MPVs. To be noted, the unofficial bookings for Carnival have commenced across dealerships, for a token amount of either Rs 50,000 or Rs 1 Lakh.

Our sources have confirmed that the Kia Carnival will come in either three or four variants, priced from Rs 25 Lakhs to Rs 35 Lakhs (ex-showroom). Innova, on the other hand, is priced from Rs 15.36 Lakhs up to Rs 24.06 Lakhs (ex-showroom). Innova just got the BS6 upgrade, so these prices are new.

Kia Carnival Vs Toyota Innova Crysta – Engine Specifications

Carnival will come with a 2.2 Litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel unit, which will be BS6 compliant right from the start. The engine will be capable of producing 200 BHP and 440 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 8-speed AT as standard.

Innova earlier came with the 2.8 Litre diesel engine which has been discontinued. Other two engine options include a 2.7 Litre petrol and a 2.4 Litre diesel engine. The petrol engine produces 163 BHP and 245 Nm of peak torque. The diesel motor puts out 143 BHP and 343 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines get the option of a 5-speed MT or a 6-speed AT.

Looks like the Carnival is a lot bigger than the Innova. In terms of length, Carnival is nearly 400mm longer than Innova and is also 150mm wider. The boot space of Carnival is also better than Innova, at 540 Litres compared to 300 litres. The boot can further be bigger as in Carnival, you can fold the second as well as the third row. In Innova, only the third row can be folded. While the Carnival gets a bigger wheelbase, the Innova is slightly taller than the former.

Seating Options

Kia Carnival will come in 7-seater, 8-seater and 9-seater options. There are still unconfirmed rumours that it might come in a 6-seater configuration too. Innova comes in two configurations, including a 7-seater and an 8-seater.
