The Skoda Vision IN concept will preview the mid-size SUV that Skoda will debut in India at the 2020 Auto Expo. The SUV will be launched in between April-June 2020.
In December 2019, Skoda India teased an all-new SUV for the Indian market through an interior sketch image. They were calling it the Vision IN concept. Now Skoda India has confirmed that they will reveal the Vision IN concept in its entirety on February 3, ahead of its public debut at the 2020 Auto Expo on February 7. The concept will also be on display on February 5th and 6th on the media days.
This new mid-size SUV from Skoda will be based on an India-specific version of the MQB AO platform. Its called the MQB AO IN platform. We also know that the SUV will measure 4.26 meters in length. The production-spec version of the SUV will have a wheelbase measuring 2,651mm. That should provide ample space on the interiors, particularly for the rear row of seats.
From the interior sketch images that we have seen from what Skoda has teased before, the dashboard will be multi-layered but it will have a clean and minimalistic design. The dashboard will be dominated by a large free-standing touchscreen infotainment system. The SUV will also come with Skoda’s Virtual Cockpit system (digital instrument cluster), a flat-bottom three-spoke steering wheel with steering mounted controls, a small gear selector in the central console, and a unique ‘crystalline element’ positioned in the middle of the dashboard.

The Skoda Vision IN concept will be powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. There will also be a larger 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. We do not have the exact power and torque outputs from these engines yet but we will have more information on them as we approach the unveil date. There will be no diesel engine on offer with this SUV as Skoda has decided to discontinue diesel engines post the BS-6 norms. However, a CNG variant could be on the cards.
