The Jeep Compass Limited Plus with the diesel-automatic combo brings the diesel AT to the standard Compass for the first time after the flagship Trailhawk variant.
A diesel-automatic variant of the Jeep Compass has been long awaited. Jeep introduced the diesel-automatic power for the Compass with the Trailhawk variant but now, Jeep is all set to introduce this combination in the standard Compass as well. It will be offered in the Limited plus variant and it could be launched in just two weeks. According to a report by Zigwheels, prices for the Jeep Compass Limited Plus diesel-automatic could start from Rs. 25 lakhs.
That significantly undercuts the price of the flagship Trailhawk variant that has been priced at Rs 26.80 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. Dealers have started accepting bookings for the upcoming Compass diesel AT for a token of Rs 50,000. The Compass Limited Plus diesel-automatic will be powered by the same 2.0 liter Multijet engine that is powers the top-spec Trailhawk variant. Output figures also remain the same at 170 bhp and 350 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 9-speed ZF automatic gearbox and the engine is also BS-6 complaint.
However, the diesel-automatic combo on the standard Compass will only be available on the 4X4 Limited Plus variant. The Limited Plus variant of the Compass is a pretty well kitted car. The flagship Trailhawk variant also missed out on a few essential features like powered front seats with memory function, automatic headlamps and wipers. Now you can have these features with the diesel-automatic variant of the Compass, something the Trailhawk variant did not have. It’s also expected to come with cruise control and a start-stop function, features which were earlier exclusive to the Trailhawk.

Safety features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, electric parking brake, rear parking sensors and a rear view camera.

With the introduction of the Compass diesel-automatic in the lower Limited Plus trim, the Compass diesel AT combo is now even more accessible without having to opt for the top-spec Trailhawk variant. When launched, the Compass Limited Plus diesel automatic will lock horns with the upcoming Tata Harrier Automatic which is slated for launch soon.
