Amidst this, there are some very exciting launches to look forward to. A lot of new generations, facelifts and new models are meant to be launched in 2020. So, here’s a list of upcoming cars in 2020 that will cost under Rs 10 Lakhs.
Upcoming Cars In 2020 – Maruti Suzuki
Ignis Facelift
This news is fresh as the styling of the Ignis facelift has recently been leaked. Along with the BS-6 update, the Ignis will also receive a mild styling upgrade. Inside the cabin, we can expect some minor revisions as well. The facelift will get the new 1.2 Litre petrol engine with SHVS smart-hybrid system that debuted on the Baleno. Its diesel engine was discontinued in 2018 itself owing to poor sales and near pricing with Baleno.
Vitara Brezza Petrol
The best-selling SUV of India will finally get a petrol engine but will also give up its diesel engine. Vitara Brezza Petrol is expected to be launched by February 2020 and will also get a minor facelift alongside. Under the hood, it will get the 1.5 Litre K15B petrol engine, that produces 105 BHP. It will come with the SHVS smart-hybrid system as well. This engine is already BS-6 compliant and might probably reduce the starting prices of Brezza.

Tiago And Tigor Facelift
Tata Motors is going to upgrade the Tiago and Tigor with a mild facelift and BS-6 compliant engines. The updated models will be launched soon in India. The facelift will include brief revisions to the styling and features list. From April 2020, both the cars will lose out their diesel engines owing to the emission norms. They will only be available with their 1.2 Litre three-cylinder petrol engines.
Altroz
Tata Motors’ newest hatchback has been unveiled in India and we have already reviewed it as well. It will finally be launched next month, with prices being announced then. Altroz is Tata’s chance in the premium hatchback segment, against Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Honda Jazz, Toyota Glanza and Volkswagen Polo. It gets two engine options – a 1.2 Litre petrol engine from Tiago and 1.5 Litre diesel engine from Nexon. Later, it will also get JTP’s 1.2 Litre turbo-petrol unit and a DCT gearbox as well.
H2X (Micro-SUV)
Tata unveiled the H2X micro-SUV at the Geneva Motor Show 2019. The rival for Renault Kwid, Maruti S-Presso and Mahindra KUV100 is most likely to be launched by the end of 2019. We might see it in a production form at the 2020 Auto Expo. The H2X will sit on Tata’s newly developed platform, that undermines the Altroz and will further build next-generation Nexon and Tiago.
Nexon Facelift
Tata Nexon EV has been unveiled in India and its design makes way for the Nexon facelift. The updated Nexon will get revised bumpers, new alloy wheels and addition of an electric sunroof. It also gets a refreshed cabin and some new features. The Facelift will get the BS-6 compliant engines and not the current model.

Aura
Replacing the Xcent, Hyundai is bringing in the new Aura sub-compact sedan. It gets a major makeover to look sportier than ever. It also gets sportier with the new 1.0 Litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 100 BHP. Aura also gets many new segment-first features, for which Hyundai is always famous. It will be launched in January 2020, with its prices being announced at the same time.
New-Generation i20
Hyundai has already commenced testing the new-generation i20 in the global markets. The hatchback will get a fresh design language and a sharper look. As always, Hyundai will be giving some segment-first features onboard which includes an electric sunroof as well. Even the i20 will be getting the 1.0 Litre turbo-petrol engine, that is likely to produce 100-110 BHP and be paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT.

Polo GT TSI (1.0 Litre Turbo-Petrol Engine)
Volkswagen is phasing out diesel engines from next year, owing to emission norms. Also, the lovable Polo will lose out its lovable 1.2 Litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. This engine comes on the GT TSI and makes Polo the best hatchback to drive. Instead of that, a new 1.0 Litre turbo-petrol engine will be introduced that is reported to produce more power. The launch will most likely happen by February 2020.
Upcoming Cars In 2020 – Kia Motors
Kia Sub-4 Metre SUV (Unnamed)
Kia is working on an all-new subcompact SUV based on the Hyundai Venue. It has been spied testing on the Indian roads and is set to make an appearance in the 2020 Auto Expo. Expect it to get the 1.2 Litre petrol engine and 1.0 Litre turbo-petrol engine from Venue. Both the SUVs then will get a new diesel engine as well, most likely the 1.5 Litre oil-burner from Seltos, in a detuned manner. The Kia sub-compact SUV will be styled completely different from Venue.
Upcoming Cars In 2020 – Renault
Renault Sub-4 Metre SUV (Unnamed)
Built on the platform of Triber, Renault will launch its new sub-compact SUV. It is also expected to be seen at the 2020 Auto Expo in a production-ready form. The Renault small SUV will not get a diesel engine and only petrol engines. The SUV might use two new engines – a 1.0 Litre turbo-petrol motor and a 1.2 Litre turbo-petrol motor. The former engine will also be used on the Triber.
