Yamaha has entered the 125cc scooter space with the Ray ZR and Fascino 125. Both the scooters get FI, look completely different and get new features.
Yamaha has launched the new Fascino 125 and Ray ZR 125 in India. Both are the brand’s first offerings for the 125cc scooter space. The Fascino 125 starts off at Rs 66,430 up to Rs 69,930. The Ray ZR and Rally-Street 125 have just been unveiled as of now.
Both the scooters are BS-6 compliant, making Yamaha advance in the BS-6 launches with five models now compliant. Both the engines are newly developed, are 16% more fuel-efficient with a claimed mileage of around 58 kmpl.
The Fascino 125 and Ray ZR 125 get a 124.6cc fuel-injected engine that produces 8.2 BHP and 9.7 Nm of peak torque. It also gets a silent starter and stop-start system, similar to the ones found on Activa 125. The power output has been increased by 30%.

The styling of Fascino 125 and Ray ZR have also been revised, with major upgrades made to Fascino. While it retains its original retro styling, it gets new alloy wheels, slight changes to the front apron and seven colour options to choose from.
Other features onboard the Fascino 125 include multi-function key, side-stand cut-off switch, Unified Braking System (CBS), foldable hook and USB charger. The Ray ZR additionally gets a fully digital speedometer and LED position lamps and the Rally Street continues with the off-road friendly tread tyres.
The suspension setup remains the same for both, with telescopic forks at the front and swingarm suspension at the back. Fascino 125 gets an option of front and rear drum brakes or front disc and rear drum brakes. The Ray ZR also gets the same braking setup.

Yamaha Fascino 125 FI is available in seven colours – Vivid Red, Metallic Black, Yellow Cocktail, Matte Blue, Dark Matte Blue, Suave Copper and Cyan Blue. The Ray ZR comes in Dark Matte Blue, Metallic Black, Cyan Blue, Matte Red Metallic and Reddish Yellow Cocktail.
The bookings have begun for both of them and they will start reaching dealerships by January 2020. Fascino 125 and Ray ZR 125 go against the likes of Honda Activa 125, Suzuki Burgman Street 125, TVS Ntorq 125 and Hero Maestro Edge 125.
