MG Motors will commence booking of the ZS EV from December 21! MG Motors have also revealed that the ZS EV will come in two variants – Excite and Exclusive.
MG Motors unveiled the ZS EV in India on December 5 and now the carmaker has announced that they would be commencing booking of the car from December 21. The ZS EV is MG Motor’s second offering in India and it is expected to be priced around Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom) as it will be brought in as a CKD (completely knocked down) unit.
MG Motors have set the booking amount of the ZS EV at Rs. 50,000. Along with this, the company has also revealed that the ZS EV would be available in two variants – Excite and Exclusive. The Excite is the entry level variant of the ZS EV and it gets features like an 8-inch touchscreen, four speakers, six airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system and ESP. MG has also hinted that Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support will also be available for the ZS EV.
The Exclusive variant on the other hand gets some really exclusive features which the Excite misses out on. These features include roof rails, leather seats, dual-pane sunroof,PM2.5 air filter, 6-way adjustable driver seat, rain-sensing front wiper, power folding ORVMs, seat back pockets, iSmart EV 2.0 connected features, six speaker system and heated ORVMS.
The ZS EV is powered by a synchronous motor that produces 141 bhp and 353 Nm of peak torque. The car gets a 44.5 kWh battery pack that promises a range of about 300 km on a single charge. The lithium-ion unit can be charged up to 80 per cent in 40 minutes with a 50 kW DC charger, or takes up to seven hours with a standard 7 kW charger.

The MG ZS EV is a pretty handsome looking car and it does not shout out its electric credentials at all. Its looks very much like a traditional car with good proportions, a bold diamond finished grille upfront, swooping bonnet and a curved roofline. Keeping up with trends, the ZS EV sports a crossover-ish profile. The charging port has also been very smartly hidden behind the grille.

MG Motor India will also set-up the country’s first 50 kW DC fast-charging stations across different cities to create a better infrastructure for EVs in India. MG has tied-up with Fortum India to install the charging network and will first set-up the same at its showrooms in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad. Recently, there were also reports of MG likely to introduce petrol and petrol-hybrid versions of ZS SUV.
