The prices of Altroz commence from Rs 5.29 Lakhs to Rs 9.29 Lakhs. Its top end variants make it one of the costliest of the segment.  However, its still significantly cheaper than the Jazz, particularly in its petrol guise. In fact, the Altroz petrol almost ends where the jazz petrol starts off from. For the diesel, the Altroz still maintains a significant margin with its starting price but is almost at par at the top-end spectrum. The Jazz has always been an expensive hatchback, ever since its first generation. The Tata Altroz has a huge edge on this front.

The Altroz uses a 1.2 Litre three-cylinder engine that produces 86 BHP and 113 Nm of torque. The Jazz also gets a 1.2 Litre engine but with four-cylinder engine. It produces slightly more power at 90 BHP but marginally less torque at 110 Nm. A 5-speed manual gearbox is standard on both, while the Jazz additionally gets a CVT as well. Altroz is also going to get an automatic gearbox soon, likely a 7-speed DCT unit. It however must be mentioned that the Altroz gets a BS-6 engine while the Jazz still gets a BS-4 engine.

The diesel engine of Altroz is BS-6 compliant, whereas the diesel unit of Jazz is also BS-4. The Altroz gets a 1.5 Litre four-cylinder unit, producing 90 BHP. The Jazz also uses a similar engine configuration but produces more power at 100 BHP. Both cars produce the same torque though. While the Altroz gets a 5-speed manual, the Jazz also gets another gear with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
