Almost all the buyers of the 2020 Hyundai i20 have opted for the Sportz and Asta variants, which are the top-spec trims loaded with many features.
The prices of 2020 Hyundai i20 were announced a couple of weeks ago and very soon, the deliveries will also begin. In just 20 days of being launched, the hatch has garnered more than 20,000 bookings. That’s literally 1 new i20 booked every minute. Prices start at Rs 6.79 Lakhs going up to Rs 11.59 Lakhs (Ex-showroom).
Going by the latest company reports, 85% of the total buyers have opted for the mid-spec Sportz and Asta trims of 2020 Hyundai i20. Magna is the base-spec trim and above that, you have Sportz, Asta and Asta (O). Despite top-end variants being priced higher than expectations, they are still high in demand.

The Sportz variant is priced from RS 7.59 Lakhs up to Rs 8.99 Lakhs. The Asta variant starts at Rs 8.69 Lakhs going up to Rs 10.66 Lakhs, making both of them the most practical variants. Unfortunately, the Asta variant does not get the option of a diesel engoine, while Sportz gets away with the turbo-DCT combination.
Some features include a fully digital 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Wireless Apple CarPlay, front armrest, fully automatic AC, rear parking camera and sporty aluminium pedals. Features that are missing from the top-end variants include cruise control, electric sunroof, automatic headlamps, alloy wheels, LED headlamps and six airbags.
2020 Hyundai i20 comes with three engine options including a 1.2 Litre four-cylinder petrol, a 1.5 Litre diesel and a 1.0 Litre three-cylinder turbo. Except the 100 PS diesel motor, other two engines get an automatic gearbox as an option. Hyundai i20 becomes the first hatchback to get the clutchless manual iMT.
