Indian roads throw up quite unusual visuals and this latest video is yet another example of that.
In this latest video, an NRI family lets its 6-year-old drive a Hyundai Creta on Indian roads. Indians form among the largest migrant populations across the world. Hence, NRIs visiting their home country after a long time is rather ubiquitous. But what is not all that common, and rightly so, is people carrying their young children on their laps while driving and giving them steering control. We don’t need to highlight the issues with that. Let us take a look at the details of this latest case.

6 Year Old Drives Hyundai Creta
The video has been uploaded by Gunu Life Style in USA on YouTube. It captures a sight that can be considered quite perilous. There is this NRI family that creates vlogs around their living and travelling across various places in the USA and across the world. They have arrived in India. Here, they are seen commuting in a Hyundai Creta. However, the dad has his son on his lap while driving amidst thick traffic on the road. What is more concerning is the fact that the 6-year-old is operating the steering wheel and looking back at the camera at the same time.

Now, while we understand that his father controls the pedals and even the steering wheel, this is something that could turn tragic quite quickly. One can’t even wear the seatbelt properly with this kind of arrangement. As seen in the video, the child is out of the seatbelt constraint and very close to the steering which is dangerous. He is even seen pushing his dad’s hand away to have full control. All these factors make this scenario quite hazardous not just for this family, but for everyone around.

Road Safety
We advise our readers not to get engaged in such acts. We lose thousands of lives each year on Indian roads, and most of these accidents happen due to avoidable circumstances and disregarding traffic laws. It is high time we adhere to the traffic regulations to make our streets safer than they are at the moment. Let us pledge to be responsible drivers and promote road safety to prevent undesirable situations at all costs.
