This becomes clear if we take a look at the rising sales of CNG vehicles in the last couple of years. We know that converting to EVs will take a long time if we consider mass adoption. 5 Upcoming CNG SUVs in India
Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder CNG
First on the list is the mid-size SUV from Toyota, the Hyryder. It will borrow the CNG powertrain from Maruti Suzuki. That will be a 1.5-litre mill producing a decent 87 hp and 121.5 Nm of peak power and torque already in available with the Ertiga/XL6. The claimed mileage will be 26.1 km/kg which will be an attractive aspect of the SUV. Toyota has already started taking bookings for the same at Rs 25,000.

Maruti Grand Vitara CNG
Since these two are essentially the same SUVs, the CNG version of the Hyryder will soon be followed by the Grand Vitara CNG. Note that only the 1.5-litre mild hybrid version will be converted to CNG and not the strong hybrid that already has an ARAI mileage of 27.97 km/h.

Maruti Brezza CNG
The compact SUV segment will also have the CNG option with the Brezza. Since the Brezza also comes with the same 1.5-litre powertrain as the Grand Vitara/Hyryder, we can expect a similar CNG powertrain. The mileage will most likely be between 25-30 km/kg.

Tata Nexon CNG
Joining the Brezza in the compact SUV segment will be the Tata Nexon. Its 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine might be chosen for the CNG option. However, the details of the same are not yet available. In the petrol version, it makes a healthy 120 hp and 170 Nm of peak power and torque.

Tata Punch CNG
Punch has enjoyed significant success ever since its launch. Its micro SUV-ish traits, 5-star safety rating and modern cabin with the latest tech features are the prime reasons why people are opting for it. There will be yet another reason to buy the Punch soon. It could come powered by the Tiago-sourced 1.2-litre CNG engine producing 75 hp and 95 Nm of peak power and torque.
