The upcoming Hyundai Alcazar facelift is one prominent 7-seat SUV to watch out for in the next couple of months. Alcazar, as you must already be aware, is the 7-seat, 3-row iteration of the mighty popular Creta mid-size SUV. In fact, the insane popularity of the Creta is what led the Korean auto giant to release a more spacious and practical three-row version which it calls the Alcazar. As expected, it was received warmly by the buyers. Now the Creta has received an upgrade a few months ago. Hence, it is only natural for the Alcazar to follow in its footsteps. That is why we have been spotting the test mule of the Hyundai Alcazar facelift on multiple occasions now. Let us glance at the some amenities to watch out for.
5 Things About Upcoming Hyundai Alcazar Facelift
Revised Powertrain Options
One of many attractive reasons for the popularity and success of the Hyundai Alcazar has been its multiple powertrain alternatives. In the last few years, we have seen carmakers ditching diesel mills altogether due to the stricter-becoming emission norms. But Hyundai has done well to keep updating its diesel mills. Hence, the Alcazar keeps benefitting from the diesel engine which offers a great opportunity for buyers who are looking for an SUV with low running costs. That becomes even more relevant in a large 7-seat SUV like the Alcazar. Even with the petrol trim, it will get the power 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine which generates a respectable 160 PS and 253 Nm of peak power and torque. Additionally, there will be manual and automatic transmission options to ensure that all sorts of customers are taken care of. That has been the case with the Alcazar in the past and I have no reason to believe that it won’t be the case with the upcoming facelift model too.
Fresh Styling
To set the Hyundai Alcazar apart from the Creta a little bit, Hyundai ensures that it changes some elements at the front. In fact, the tail section of the current Alcazar is a lot different in comparison to the Creta. Hence, it helps the two SUVs establish their own identities. Going by the spy shots of the upcoming Hyundai Alcazar facelift, this trend is likely to repeat. As a result, we will get a slightly tweaked front fascia with a different grille and perhaps a redesigned bumper. Also, the alloy wheels would most likely bear a different pattern which was the case with the current model too. Also, the rear section will be completely distinct than the Creta. Still, I expect it to carry the connected LED taillamp approach, which is common on modern cars, particularly from Hyundai.
Updated Cabin and Features
Hyundai is known for offering some of the most feature-rich vehicles in just about every segment. Its cars often boast segment-first amenities. That is because the brand focuses on offering the customers the most premium experience at a given price point. That has been its core strength since the beginning. Hence, there is no reason to think that it won’t be the case with the Hyundai Alcazar facelift too. It already boasts some of the latest tech, connectivity, convenience, safety and comfort functions to keep its occupants pampered at all times. On top of that, the overall cabin layout and feel will be quite premium as well. This could include offering soft-touch materials on the dashboard and door panels.
Safety
Hyundai was the first carmaker in India to announced that all variants of all its products sold in India will have 6 airbags as standard. That is a testament to its commitment to offering the safest products to its customers irrespective of which variant they opt for. Since the Alcazar is already a rather premium product in Hyundai’s India lineup, it will benefit from all the latest safety features on offer by Hyundai. Going by what the new Creta gets, this time around, we can expect the Alcazar to get Level 2 ADAS functionalities. It will boost the active safety prowess of the 3-row SUV. ADAS is becoming common these days, particularly around this market segment. Hence, the new Alcazar could offer this feature in the higher trims.
Launch
Finally, the launch of the Hyundai Alcazar facelift is slated for the festive season this year. This means that we could expect the updated 7-seat SUV plying on our roads sometime around September or October. In recent times, we have seen some test mules of the near-production-spec model. In fact, since this is just a regular facelift version, an insane amount of testing won’t be necessary. It will most likely retain the powertrains and most other elements. There will just be the addition of some aesthetic elements and new features. Hence, a delay in launch is not expected. We will get to know more details closer to the launch. Hopefully, this post should give you an idea of what to expect from the 7-seat SUV.
