Maruti Jimny has been launched in India with attractive introductory prices to challenge the pole position held by Mahindra Thar in the segment since time immemorial.
There are a few advantages that Maruti Jimny has over Mahindra Thar in terms of features. Jimny is a lifestyle lightweight off-roading SUV that has made a name for itself in the international market for decades now. However, that is the 3-door version. The prices for this Jimny 4×4 start at an enticing Rs 12.74 lakh, ex-showroom undercutting the Mahindra Thar significantly. Here are the other 5 advantages it boasts over the latter.

1. 6 Airbags
Maruti has made a deliberate effort to woo customers by offering 6 airbags with the Jimny. Maruti cars are not known for having high safety ratings as per the Global NCAP scores. With Jimny, Maruti wishes to remedy that. On the other hand, the Thar only comes with 2 airbags even though it has a 4-star safety rating at the Global NCAP.

Since the glass of the headlamp can get covered with dust, dirt or even mud, the washer will ensure that it is washed easily.

However, Jimny features the standard 5-door configuration and this issue is not present at all. Note that Thar is also undergoing testing in the 5-door guise and the launch might just be around the corner.
