Bollywood Celebrities with Budget Cars
Akshay Kumar
The cheapest car that Akshay Kumar owns is Jeep Compass. It comes with a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol unit that outputs 160 hp and 250 Nm and a 2.0-litre diesel mill churning out 168 hp and 350 Nm of peak power and torque respectively. Both these engines could be mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT gearbox. The 4×4 drive system is available with only the diesel unit. The prices of the Compass start at Rs 19.29 lakh and go all the way up to Rs 30.84 lakh, ex-showroom.

Esha Gupta
Among the other luxury cars Esha has, the most humble has to be the now-discontinued Ford EcoSport. It used to come with the options of a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine good for 120 hp and 149 Nm and the 1.5-litre diesel engine makes 100 hp and 215 Nm of peak power and torque respectively. There are options of either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The prices ranged from around Rs 8 lakh to Rs 12 lakh, ex-showroom.

Jackie Shroff
Jaggu Dada, as he is colloquially known, owns a rather vintage 1950 Fiat Mini 1000. Back then, it used to come with a 1.1-litre engine that had a top speed of 116 km/h and an acceleration time from 0-100 km/h in a sluggish 32.9 secs. The price of this beauty could be anywhere between Rs 4 lakh to Rs 10 lakh today.

John Abraham
The ‘Dhoom’ star is known for his innate passion for fast bikes. He has publicly told that he possesses around 17 bikes. There are a lot of luxury cars in his garage too. But the most humble of them all has to be this Maruti Gypsy. It used to have a 1.3-litre engine that made 80 hp and 103 Nm of peak power and torque. It was one of the favourite cars for off-roading enthusiasts. The Gypsy retailed for around Rs 6.50 lakh before being discontinued.

Sara Ali Khan
Sara was recently spotted coming out of perhaps a fitness studio of some kind and posing in front of her mega-humble Maruti Alto. The Alto has a 796-cc petrol engine good for 47 hp and 69 Nm of peak power and torque. It is the most affordable car in the country with prices ranging from Rs 3.39 lakh to Rs 5.03 lakh, ex-showroom.
