Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara XL7 (2003-2007)
The Grand Vitara XL7 was the first SUV Maruti brought to India that had a V6 engine back in 2003. It has a 2.7-litre V6 that produced 183 hp and 244 Nm of peak power and torque. This engine was mated to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox. The main attraction of this SUV was its shift-on-the-fly 4WD system enhancing its appeal a lot.

This next Grand Vitara actually had a ton of buyers and was quite popular despite its steep price. It came with a 2.4-litre petrol engine that churned out 163 hp and 225 Nm of peak power and torque. There were options of a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic gearbox. It also came with the option of an all-wheel-drive to accentuate its off-roading credentials.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza (2016-2022)
The last-gen compact SUV was named the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza which is now called just Brezza. It came with a 1.5-litre petrol engine that produced 103 hp and 137 Nm of peak power and torque. There was the option of a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic initially and a 6-speed automatic in the current-gen model.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Brezza (2022-)
The upcoming mid-size SUV from Maruti Suzuki will be named Grand Vitara. It will be based on the recently unveiled Toyota HyRyder and rival the likes of Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The Hyryder comes with a 1.5-litre mild hybrid and a 1.5-litre strong hybrid petrol engine. The mild-hybrid engine will be sourced from Maruti to output 102 hp and 137 Nm of peak torque and come with an AWD drivetrain, while the strong hybrid will come from Toyota with an electric motor and a Li-Ion battery pack that will develop a combined power of 116 hp.
