There are 3 upcoming new Tata EVs in the pipeline. The EV wave is gripping the nation for a while now. The sales of electric cars have witnessed a new high. In fact, Tata Motors is responsible for around 75% of the total EV sales in the country. That reflects the stronghold it commands in our market. Its Nexon EV is the highest-selling EV in the country by a mile. Recently, the Tiago EV and Tigor EV have been contributing to the overall sales too. Going forward, we can expect even more EVs to join the portfolio. Here are the details.

3 Upcoming New Tata EVs
Updated Tata Nexon EV
Let us begin this discussion with the most popular and successful EV in the country. Tata has already given an upgrade to the Nexon EV which is why it now comes in two variants – Prime and MAX. The latter has the new larger battery pack offering more range. However, both these versions are based on the existing Nexon. That compact SUV is already on the verge of receiving a comprehensive facelift. This would include a new exterior styling and an interior revamp too with the addition of new-age features. Therefore, we can expect the India auto giant to update the electric version of the Nexon soon after that too.

Tigor EV
Tigor EV is an electric compact sedan. Just like the Nexon, the Tigor EV has also been derived from its ICE counterpart. This strategy of converting the already existing and successful ICE cars into EVs has worked well for Tata Motors. But it has been a long time since we have had any updates with the Tigor EV. Hence, we are expecting Tata Motors to focus its attention on the most affordable electric sedan in the country as well. In fact, if it updates the Tigor EV, we could also expect these changes on the Tiago EV, which is the hatchback version of the Tigor. We shall have to wait to see if the changes are strictly aesthetic or in terms of powertrains as well.

Altroz EV
While the first two are already on sale in the market, the Altroz EV is a model that has eluded us till now. There have been a lot of news reports related to it for a long time now. But we still don’t have the Altroz EV on sale. Going forward, we expect Tata Motors to bring the electric version of its successful premium hatchback pretty soon. It will most likely feature a similar or a de-tuned powertrain to the Nexon EV. In addition, there could be some changes to the exterior to give away its eco-friendly credentials. We expect Tata Motors to launch these models in the near future.
