The flagship Skoda SUV will soon be launched in India as a CBU, which means that the price will be quite high
The upcoming 2025 Skoda Kodiaq was recently spotted testing on the Indian roads, undisguised. Kodiaq has been a niche product in our country due to its positioning and price. Still, the Czech car marque sold it in relatively decent numbers. Note that the latest-generation model has already been launched in the international markets a few months ago. In fact, it was also present at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in New Delhi a couple of months ago. Now as the launch nears, the test mule is being seen on public roads.
2025 Skoda Kodiaq Spotted Testing in India
This post stems from Automobile With Bruce on YouTube. The visuals capture a rather long drive of the premium SUV amidst heavy traffic. It is in a striking blue colour. The cameraman followed the car for quite a long distance, which gives the viewers a clear view of the SUV from every angle. At the front, we see the typical Skoda design theme with the butterfly grille and split-LED headlamp configuration. Down below, there is a black element, which enhances the sportiness. The side section contains elegant alloy wheels and sophisticated creases. Finally, the rear end bears a connected LED taillamp panel, a roof-mounted spoiler and a sporty bumper with chrome inserts.
In terms of the interior and features, we can take some cues from the international model. One thing that is expected is the usage of high-quality materials to create a premium vibe inside the cabin. The list of equipment is also pretty extensive. The top highlights are:
- Large Free-standing Touchscreen Infotainment Display
- Soft-touch Materials
- Virtual Cockpit Driver’s Instrument Cluster
- Two-spoke Steering Wheel with Multimedia Controls
- Premium Audio System
- Dual Glovebox
- Dual Wireless Smartphone Charger
- Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- Rotary Dials for HVAC Controls
- Gearbox Shifter on Steering Column
- Rear AC Vents
- Sliding and Reclining Rear Seats
- Ambient Lighting
Specs
Now, the international version of the latest Skoda Kodiaq is available in multiple powertrain alternatives. However, I feel the Indian avatar will come with a sole 2.0-litre turbo petrol mill which churns out a familiar 190 hp and 320 Nm of maximum power and torque, respectively. Performing the transmission duties is a 7-speed DSG automobile gearbox, which is what we see on many VW and Skoda products. Being a CBU, one can expect a price tag of well over Rs 50 lakh. This will make it a direct rival to the premium German cars. More details will emerge at the launch.
New-Gen Skoda Kodiaq | Specs (exp.) |
Engine | 2.0L Turbo Petrol |
Power | 190 hp |
Torque | 320 Nm |
Transmission | 7DSG |
