The facelift model of the Tata Punch has been spotted testing. Punch ranks among the top-selling vehicles nationwide and undoubtedly leads its segment. Its rugged appearance and genuine mini-SUV stance appeal to consumers, offering a taste of SUV experience without the hefty price tag associated with larger SUVs. Furthermore, its outstanding safety credentials, highlighted by a 5-star Global NCAP rating, and the inclusion of cutting-edge technology and convenience features contribute significantly to its widespread acclaim. Despite its considerable success, Punch has not seen any updates since 2021. Hence, spy images of the forthcoming Punch facelift have begun to surface.

Exterior
This video comes from Harsh VLOGS on YouTube. The visuals primarily capture the rear profile of the micro SUV. Note that the body is wrapped under a heavy camouflage. Still, the LED taillamp unit is clearly visible. In fact, it is somewhat reminiscent of the current model. Even the overall silhouette is a stark replica of the existing Punch. That is expected since facelift models often just focus on minor aesthetic modifications. Apart from that, one can also witness the new alloy wheel design despite the cover. Also, it bears a rugged bumper and a side body cladding to accentuate its sportiness. All in all, the major design pattern will remain the same but there will be some cosmetic updates to set it apart from the current model.

Since this will be a facelift version, there will only be minimal customizations to the interior and cabin. Therefore, most of the existing features will continue. Multiple Powertrains
There are unlikely to be any alterations to the powertrain options, meaning the Punch will continue to be equipped with the 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine, delivering a respectable 86 hp and 113 Nm of peak power and torque. This engine is mated to either a 5-speed manual or an AMT automatic gearbox. Additionally, it is available in a bi-fuel configuration, capable of running on CNG. In this setup, power and torque outputs decrease to 72.4 hp and 103 Nm, respectively. Currently, the CNG variant is only offered with a 5-speed manual transmission, but considering Tata’s introduction of AMT gearboxes in its CNG range, the Punch facelift may adopt this option.

Price
In terms of the pricing, we can expect a slight premium over the existing prices. At the moment, the Tata Punch retails between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 10.20 lakh, ex-showroom. Hence, you can assume a nominal bump in the prices for the facelifted model. However, it won’t be too high in a bid to keep it competitive.

Safety
We know that Tata Motors is very particular about the safety ratings of its cars. In fact, it offers the highest level of safety prowess irrespective of the price point of any car. Note that the existing Punch is already a 5-star rated product at the Global NCAP. Since there will only be minor cosmetic changes, we don’t see that rating change even with the facelift model. Hence, we can expect even the facelift model to offer a 5-star rating. However, it will be interesting to see if Tata Motors sends it to the Bharat NCAP this time around.
