The flagship SUV from the Czech car marque has been being spied testing on the Indian roads for quite some time now.
The 2024 Skoda Kodiaq has been spotted testing on our roads yet again. Note that it will arrive on our shores via the CBU route. That will ascertain significantly high prices. The flagship SUV from the Czech carmaker belongs to a rather niche segment in our market. In essence, it competes with its VW sibling, the Tiguan along with the entry-level German luxury carmakers. Still, it has a loyal customer base. That is exactly what the new model will cater to as well. For now, let us take a look at the details of this latest case.
Upcoming 2024 Skoda Kodiaq Spied
The specifics of this latest spotting arrive from driftxp_ on Instagram. The images showcase the tail section of the upcoming flagship Skoda SUV. Interestingly, there is no camouflage around the vehicle. That is quite unusual for a car that is yet to launch. However, since it is not a mass-market product, Skoda doesn’t mind people getting to know about its design. In any case, the tail section consists of sleek wraparound LED taillamps with a black panel joining the two. There is Skoda lettering on the tailgate and I am able to see a roof-mounted spoiler and the shark fin antenna. On the sides, the prominent wheel arches with black claddings are visible along with elegant alloy wheels.
Going by the international model, we can expect the cabin to bear modern elements. This also includes top-notch materials to design the dashboard, door panels, digital estate, upholstery and other components. We can expect ultra-modern amenities like a 10- or 13-inch Freestanding Touchscreen Infotainment Display, a 10-inch Digital Instrument Cluster, an optional Head-up Display, Three Physical Dials on the Centre Console with 32 mm Colour Displays, a Panoramic Sunroof, 340-litre Boot Space with All Three Rows Up, 910-litre Boot Space with Third Row Folded, Automatic Climate Control and more.
Specs and Price
Note that the international model comes with tons of powertrain options. However, I believe the Indian-spec model will bear the familiar 2.0-litre turbo petrol mill which churns out a healthy 190 hp and 320 Nm of peak power and torque. Performing the transmission duties will be a 7-speed DSG transmission. This is the same engine that powers the existing Kodiaq. Interestingly, it could continue to offer all-wheel-drive configuration. Hence, it will have moderate off-roading capabilities. Being a CBU model, the prices could be well over Rs 50 lakh, ex-showroom.
