The 2024 Mercedes E-Class (W214) features a large-size screen along with a handful of high-tech entertainment options
German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz officially revealed the interior of the 2024 E-Class late last month. The showcase was part of a major unveiling event, giving the luxury sedan ample preview details to show off most of its posh interior with a screen-heavy dashboard. The codename W214 will offer the first taste of many of these features when it arrives later this year.

Inspired from EQE and EQS
Firstly, the 2024 Mercedes E-Class interior gets many cues from the EQE and EQS fitted with Hyperscreen. From a purely design perspective, the cabin of the new E-Class is more evolutionary than revolutionary. The freestanding semi-floating dashboard design houses a digital instrument cluster that offers a classic yet sporty display. This includes a vast expanse of dashboard glass sweeping from the centre stack to the passenger door. While the sporty display behind the steering flaunts the speedometer and tachometer, the classic display in front of the passenger adopts a red theme putting it front and centre. Mercedes is launching an App Store that will have a gradually expanding portfolio of apps.

A front passenger camera can take selfies when the car is stationary and a tablet-esque one sits right in front of the driver and houses the important gauges. Mercedes calls it the Superscreen. Thin air vents wrap around the top of the screen and a row of touch-capacitive buttons sits just below. Mercedes’ advanced LED entry lighting wraps around the entire cabin, along the vents, in the doors, and around the base of the windshield.
2024 Mercedes E-Class to Offer Angry Birds, TikTok, Zoom and Webex
There will be more apps at launch, including Angry Birds, TikTok, Zoom and Webex. In addition to the above apps, owners will also get the Vivaldi web browser as well as the ZYNC entertainment portal. Mercedes says the latter “offers on-demand content, interactive experiences, local video programming, sports, news and more.” It’s unclear at the moment but the company says there are more than 30 streaming services already available. To prevent distractions from the front passenger display, the E-Class features a “visual shield”, which works with the help of a camera and an advanced filtering concept. However, the shield can be turned on and off.

If we keep the screen aside, the 2024 Mercedes E-Class will offer an active ambient lighting system and 17-speaker Burmester 4D surround sound system that will enable owners to experience sound with three senses. The light strip isn’t just for fun, as Mercedes has also used it to convey safety information, especially when parking a car, and can give visual warnings to ensure extra safety when crossing intersections with cross traffic.
Along with energising features, 5G technology has been used for faster data transfer. The Mercedes can also see the minimalist centre console along with the new steering wheel, while the buyers will also get a variety of colour combinations for the interiors. It will also offer Nappa leather seats and new Dark Ash open-pore wood trim backlit for a comfortable ride.
