The first walkaround video of the new 2024 Maruti Swift ZXI is out. Ahead of the launch in the next few hours, some people have already got their hands on the actual vehicle. Going by the nomenclature of Maruti Suzuki, ZXI should be the second-from-top version. Hence, it will come with almost all the bells and whistles. Perhaps, it might even emerge as the favourite for the masses. Let us check out what this variant of the new Swift offers in terms of exterior styling, interior, features and powertrains.

We get to experience this video courtesy of MR Cars on YouTube. The host has the ZXI trim of the new Swift in white colour. At the front, the new Swift gets an updated front fascia. The alterations include sleek projector headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, a new bumper, and a new bonnet area with a higher placement of the logo. Interestingly, this ZXI trim doesn’t get the fog lamps. On the sides, there are silver-coloured 15-inch alloy wheels, body-coloured door handles with a driver-side request sensor for keyless entry and black side pillars. Coming to the rear, we get to see a new LED taillamp cluster, 4 parking sensors, a rear wiper, a washer, a defogger, a high-mount stop lamp and more. It even gets a 14-inch spare tyre. Overall, it is 20 mm longer (3,860 mm) than the outgoing model.
Interior and Features
The new 2024 Maruti Suzuki borrows the interior layout from the existing Baleno which is a good thing. It includes a black layout with silver inserts for that sporty look. Being the ZXI model, there are tons of modern amenities, tech and convenience features and safety equipment to pamper the customers. The top functionalities include:

The major change in the new 2024 Maruti Swift lies under the hood. There is a 1.2-litre Z Series 3-cylinder mild hybrid engine which now replaces the K Series 1.2-litre 4-cylinder mill. The new engine produces a slightly lower 82 PS and 112 Nm of peak power and torque. There could be the option of choosing between either a 5-speed manual or an AMT automatic gearbox. The new engine ensures a much higher mileage at 25.72 kmpl. That is quite unbelievable for a petrol engine. I feel that is going to be the most enticing aspect to reel in new customers.

Our View
Swift is an iconic name in the history of Maruti Suzuki. It is a popular product not just in India but across the globe. It has been on sale in India since 2005. Currently, we find it in the third generation. The new 2024 Swift will mark the fourth generation version. With decent updates to the exterior and interior and significant alterations to the engine, I believe the new Swift will offer yet another set of reasons for new customers to opt for it against the competition. I am interested to see how Maruti Suzuki prices the new Swift.
