We take a look at all the details that we know about the upcoming 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire. Dzire has maintained its status as the most sought-after C-segment vehicle for a long time now. In fact, it enjoys popularity in both private and commercial markets. Interestingly, this sub-4-metre sedan has witnessed higher demand compared to its hatchback counterpart. This fact underscores the significance of the entry-level sedan for its manufacturer. It’s not surprising, then, that there has been considerable speculation about the fourth-generation Dzire preceding the introduction of the all-new Swift in India. Despite the recent unveiling of the next-gen hatchback in a near-production form, there has been no official confirmation regarding the sedan variant. However, we can make out a few things from the new Swift revealed at the Japan Mobility Show recently.

2024 Maruti Dzire – Price and Launch Date
The new-gen Dzire 2024 will arrive around the launch of the new Swift. Traditionally, Dzire launches prior to the Swift in the previous facelift models. Hence, we could expect the Dzire to debut in our market by mid-2024. That is not too far away. Apart from that, the existing model retails between Rs 6.51 lakh and Rs 9.39 lakh, ex-showroom. With the new version, these prices could easily range from Rs 7 lakh to Rs 10 lakh, ex-showroom.

Specs
This will be the most interesting aspect. It looks like Maruti Suzuki is finally parting ways with its insanely successful K-Series engine, at least in Swift and Dzire. The forthcoming fourth-generation Swift is set to introduce the all-new Z12 engine, replacing the current K-series 1.2-liter, 4-cylinder powerplant. The manufacturer seems to have prioritized improving fuel efficiency, targeting an impressive mileage of up to 35 kmpl through the integration of hybrid technology.

Notably, even the showcase car featured Bridgestone Ecopia tyres, highlighting the commitment to achieving high fuel efficiency. Reports suggest that a notable characteristic of the Z12 engine is its unique cylinder design, with each cylinder having a capacity of 400cc, falling within the optimal volumetric efficiency range of 350cc to 400cc. This design focus aims to enhance the engine’s torque, particularly beneficial for urban driving. The emphasis is on strengthening low-end pulling power, ensuring a smoother and more robust performance in city traffic. Even though all these aspects are for the Swift, they will make it to the Dzire as well.

Design and Dimensions
We don’t expect the 2024 Maruti Dzire to bear any significant alterations in terms of the dimensions in comparison to the existing model. Due to the tax concerns, carmakers don’t stretch their vehicles beyond 4 m in length. The current model is already 3,995 mm long. Apart from that, the exterior design of the new Swift at the Japan Mobility Show was slightly different than the existing model. We expect these same modifications to carry forward to the Dzire too. This includes a tweaked headlamp design, a new bumper, a new set of alloy wheels, a redesigned rear bumper and a taillamp unit. All in all, the overall silhouette will remain the same but there will be a few changes to the exterior elements.
Dimensions (in mm) | Maruti Dzire (current-model) |
Length | 3,995 |
Width | 1,735 |
Height | 1,515 |

2024 Maruti Dzire Interior and Features
The next-gen Swift and Dzire will have an updated interior layout. In fact, to make it look premium, they will borrow certain elements from the Baleno premium hatchback. It is likely that the Dzire will feature a lighter colour palette to create a more premium ambience. In contrast to the Swift’s sporty all-black interior, the Dzire may adopt a beige-black scheme for a more sophisticated appearance. The equipment levels are expected to be comparable. Notable highlights include a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a digital driver display. Considering the market trends, both the India-spec Swift and the new Dzire might offer features such as an electric sunroof, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, and wireless charging. However, official confirmation of the features for the India-spec vehicles is still pending.
