The 2024 Tata Safari Storme image which is making rounds on the internet is just a digital rendition. And a rather poor one at that. While a lot of people were quite excited about the prospect of the iconic SUV launching in the country, it was just a photoshopped pic created by an amateur digital automobile artist. We all know how legendary the Safari Storme was. Essentially, it was among the first proper urban SUVs which had an imposing road presence and rugged off-roading 4×4 capabilities too. Meanwhile, the existing Safari is geared more towards the comfort of the passengers and modern tech and convenience features. Here are the details.

2024 Tata Safari Storme
This video comes from Harsh VLOGS on YouTube. The vlogger talks about the upcoming Tata Safari Storme. He refers to the images which are doing rounds on social media lately. All of them are digital illustrations of creative artists. But there is one image in which the SUV is partially camouflaged. It represents an almost identical exterior styling to the old model. We can understand this by thinking about the existing Mahindra Scorpio Classic and the Scorpio in its last generation. Mahindra has leveraged the name, Scorpio, and created two distinct versions of it – Classic and N.

However, it is highly unlikely that Tata Motors also wants to do the same. Even though its Safari moniker carries immense value and a rich legacy, it has moved on to more modern platforms with a much more modern design. In fact, the Avinya concept clearly details the aesthetic route the carmaker has now taken. Moreover, the Scorpio Classic is based on the recently discontinued last-gen Scorpio. Meanwhile, the Storme has been off the shelves for donkeys years now. That said, if at all the old Safari does make a comeback, it won’t be wrong for the Indian carmaker to name it Storme Classic, or something along those lines. That is a legitimate way to harness the power the Safari nameplate still carries in our market. But at the risk of sounding repetitive, we would like to reinstate that currently, the only new Safari the carmaker is working on is the upcoming facelift.

What We Think
We are not sure if Tata Motors wants to bring the old Safari back. There are a lot of vehicles in its portfolio already. These belong to all major segments of our market. There is only a mid-size SUV missing. But that could be CURVV, which might see the light of day sometime early next year. That along with the reasons already mentioned above mean there aren’t much chances of Tata Motors resurrecting the old Safari. On the other hand, if something like this Safari ever makes it to the market, there might be some who would buy it simply for the sheer nostalgia.
