The new 2024 Kia Sonet has finally been unveiled. We have been reporting the testing of the compact SUV for a long time now. Sonet has always been among the most feature-laden products in this category. In fact, this is one of the most crowded segments of the Indian automobile market. Almost all major carmakers are present in this space. To succeed in this segment, the companies need to play on their strengths. Kia is known for offering the latest tech, connectivity, convenience and comfort features to pamper its customers. With this 2024 model, that is exactly what the Korean giant is leveraging. Kia also announced that it will offer 6 airbags as standard across its range including the new Sonet. Let us see what is new in comparison to the outgoing model.

Price
While the price announcement will take place at the launch event, we can expect a slight premium over the existing prices. At the moment, the Sonet ranges from Rs 7.79 lakh and Rs 14.89 lakh, ex-showroom. Since there are barely any mechanical changes, the premium should not be astronomical. We will update this section once the prices are out.

Base Model | Rs 7.79 lakh | Rs 10.49 lakh | Rs 9.95 lakh | TBA |

Design
There are a few significant tweaks to the aesthetics of the new model. Up front, you’ll observe 7-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs) forming a circle around the sleek Crown Jewel LED headlamp cluster. The horizontal LED fog lamps (vertical in the GT-Line trim), a redesigned grille with Tiger Nose hints from the Seltos facelift, and a dynamic bumper contribute to the frontal changes. The grille’s chrome elements vary in pattern based on the variant. Additionally, the multiple alloy wheels options exude a sporty and modern appearance. At the rear, the compact SUV features a connected LED taillamp unit and a sturdy skid plate to accentuate its sportiness. Overall, there are clear differences between the current and forthcoming models.

In addition, the compact SUV offers two dual-tone combinations – Intense Red/Aurora Black Pearl and Glacier White Pearl/Aurora Black Pearl. Bookings
The pre-bookings for the 2024 Kia Sonet facelift will commence on December 20, 2023. As was the case with the Seltos facelift, the Kia car owners will be able to generate the K-Code and hand it over to the potential customers. Using this code, the potential buyers will become eligible for priority delivery. Unlike last time where only the existing Seltos owners had the ability to generate the K-Code, this time around, all Kia car owners will be able to do this. This includes Sonet, Carens, Seltos, Carnival and EV6 owners. The aim is to build a strong collaborative Kia community.
