The 2024 version of the mighty popular Hyundai Creta has been spied wearing heavy camouflage a few times now and the rear profile is set to resemble that of the recently launched Exter micro SUV. The existing Creta has been in our market since 2020. The competition in the segment has increased tremendously since then. In fact, its cousin, Kia Seltos, is now available in a new avatar as well. Therefore, it is time that the Korean giant update its highest-selling SUV too. Based on these spy shots, let us take a look at what design it could embody.

2024 Hyundai Creta Rear
This latest illustration captures the rear quarters of the mega-successful SUV. It contains the H-signature LED wraparound taillamps connected by a sleek LED light bar. This is the same pattern that we see on the Exter as well. Connected tail lamps is a feature that a lot of new vehicles come with, particularly from the Hyundai’s camp. Apart from that, this render has a shark fin antenna, black and silver C-pillars, a roof-mounted spoiler, a sporty skid plate, reverse parking lights on the bumper and a unique set of alloy wheels. We are not sure if all of these will make it to the production model.

Specs
The 2024 Hyundai Creta facelift will be similar to the new Kia Seltos. It will have a new 1.5-litre GDI turbo-petrol option, replacing the old 1.4-litre turbo-petrol mill. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5-litre turbo-diesel options will still be available. There will be various transmission options, including a 6-speed automatic, IVT, 6-speed IMT, and 7-speed DCT, depending on the variant. Notably, the new turbo-petrol engine is not only more powerful but also more fuel-efficient than the 1.4-litre option.

Added Safety
Another key aspect where we might see significant changes in the new model is safety. The body cell of the Seltos has been strengthened with the latest generation unit. Hyundai will most likely borrow it on the Creta too. As a result, the crash-worthiness and safety rating of the mid-size SUV might see a lot of improvement. It could be a critical factor since most people consider the safety ratings of a car before making a purchase decision these days. We are expecting the production to commence early next year with deliveries from around the first quarter of this fiscal year.
