The 2023 Maruti Baleno Cross has yet again been spotted undergoing road tests. Inferring from the name, the crossover will be based on the most popular premium hatchback in the country, Baleno. The platform that will be used for the crossover will most likely be Heartect which underpins the regular Baleno and a bunch of other products. The Baleno Cross will most likely replace the S-Cross. 2023 Maruti Baleno Cross
This crossover is internally codenamed the YTB. It has been spotted testing on the roads multiple times. In the latest spy media, the driver is seen putting the car through its paces on what looks like outskirts of Gurgaon. While official details of the launch are not available, We might see the crossover in flesh at the Auto Expo 2023. If that happens, the launch might follow soon and we could finally experience the Baleno Cross on our roads by February.

In terms of the design from all the spy shots until now, it will feature the split-LED DRLs on the bonnet, while the main LED headlamps will flank the massive grille at the bottom. This is the same design philosophy that we have seen at the unveiling of the upcoming Grand Vitara mid-size SUV. It lends a modern appearance. The sides will bear the crossover body type with stylish alloys and a high roofline. All in all, it will be a slightly bigger version of the Baleno but will have design elements of modern Maruti Suzuki products.

The Maruti Baleno Cross will feature the 1.0-litre BoosterJet turbo petrol engine that was last seen on the now discontinued Baleno RS. This could produce 102 hp and 150 Nm of peak power and torque. There could be options of choosing between a 5-speed MT or a 6-speed AT. In addition to that, we might also see the 1.5-litre petrol engine will mild hybrid tech like on the Grand Vitara.
