Automobile reviewers have started reviewing the 2023 Kia Seltos facelift for a real-life mileage test.
This is the latest video testing the real-life mileage of the recently launched 2023 Kia Seltos facelift. The facelift model of this mid-size SUV started accepting bookings on July 14. Within the first day itself, the Korean auto giant received an astounding number of over 13,000 bookings, showcasing the enthusiastic response from potential buyers. It’s noteworthy that the Seltos is Kia’s first product in our market and has laid the groundwork for the impressive success the Korean giant enjoys today. Let us take a look at the fuel economy.

2023 Kia Seltos Facelift Mileage
The host of the Youtube video we have here has the new Seltos with the new 1.5-litre turbo petrol powertrain at a petrol pump. He is adopting the most common method to test the real-life fuel economy of vehicles called the tank-to-tank method. In this technique, the fuel tank of the vehicle is filled to the brim at the start of the test. Then the car is taken for a journey and the fuel is refilled once it returns from the trip. The amount of fuel consumed is checked by the amount that is refilled.

For this journey, the host was able to drive the mid-size SUV for 242 km. It included little city driving and mostly highway driving with speeds averaging at about 80 km/h. He was also able to touch 150 km/h a couple of times and also perform the braking test. Overall, this is how one would usually drive on the highway as well. Finally, the YouTuber returns to the same fuelling station. After a few basic calculations, it shows that the vehicle was able to offer a decent mileage of around 14.16 km per litre. In fact, the MID of the vehicle also shows around the same number.

The new Kia Seltos offers a wide array of choices, including three powertrain options and five transmission variants. These options consist of a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine, and a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine. The car is available in three trims: X-Line, GT-Line, and Tech-Line. The power and torque outputs for each engine are as follows: 115 PS / 144 Nm for the petrol engine, 115 PS / 250 Nm for the diesel engine, and 160 PS / 253 Nm for the turbo petrol engine. The petrol engines can be paired with a manual, IVT, or DCT. Meanwhile the diesel engine offers an iMT and automatic transmission. The prices for the various configurations range from Rs 10.90 lakh to Rs 19.99 lakh, ex-showroom.
