Honda City is about to be launched in a facelifted avatar in our market and the images of the same have been leaked on the internet.
The images of the 2023 Honda City facelift have been doing rounds on the internet prior to the planned launch. City is among the best-selling products in the mid-size sedan segment in our country. It has been a popular choice among buyers for a long time due to its unique styling and incredibly capable powertrain. In its latest 5th-gen iteration, the City is also offered as a full hybrid. The launch of the facelift version is slated for March. While all that is most likely to remain the same, let us take a look at what is different.

2023 Honda City Facelift
Looking at the exterior profile of this new City, there are not all that many changes to the design but that is not necessarily a bad thing. At the front, there are sleek LED headlamps with a chunky chrome slab atop it albeit with minor modifications in the size, then there is a grille with a honeycomb pattern underneath it, and the front bumper bears certain updates compared to the existing model as well. On the sides, there are barely any noticeable changes to the facelifted City.
At the rear, there is a slim LED taillamp unit that extends to the side profile slightly and the bumper has been tweaked a little to set it apart from the pre-facelift model. On the inside too, the cabin layout remains identical to the existing version but there will be the addition of a few new features to make it compete against its rivals like the Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia, VW Virtus and Maruti Ciaz. These new features could be wireless charging and ventilated seats.

Specs
In terms of engine specifications, the Honda City will continue to get petrol and a strong hybrid unit while the diesel will be discontinued before the RDE (Real Driving Emissions) kick in in India. The regular 1.5-litre petrol engine makes 121 hp and comes mated to a 6-speed MT or a CVT automatic gearbox. The more powerful and fuel-efficient 1.5-litre petrol hybrid engine with Atkinson cycle makes 126 hp and comes exclusively mated to an e-CVT automatic gearbox. While the prices for the current-gen model range between Rs 11.87 lakh and Rs 15.62 lakh, ex-showroom, the facelift model could see an increment of around Rs 1 lakh over these. Additionally, there might be a more affordable version of the hybrid version that currently is available in top trim costing a whopping Rs 19.99 lakh, ex-showroom.
