To be launched on March 15, the 2022 Toyota Glanza will be based on the recently launched highly updated Maruti Baleno
The Toyota Glanza became the first offspring of the Toyota-Suzuki tie-up and with the Baleno receiving some comprehensive updates recently, it’s only a matter of time before the cross-badged sibling hits the market on March 15. The 2022 Toyota Glanza has already been spied sans camouflage and the several teasers that have been released online have left almost nothing to our imagination. Still, though, a new spy image that has been sent to us gives us the best look yet at the front facade.

Toyota Glanza Exterior and Interior Updates
The 2022 Toyota Glanza will look a lot more stylish than the outgoing model. Unlike before, it would enjoy a distinct visual identity through a highly reworked front-end that looks decidedly sportier than the new donor model. The single slat chrome grille, together with the sporty bumper, lends the front fascia a very athletic look. The side profile carries new 16-inch alloy wheels, while the rear gets wrap-around LED taillamps similar to the ones on the Maruti’s flagship hatchback.
The interior will be almost similar to the one on the new Baleno and the Glanza will feature the new 3-spoke leather-wrapped, flat-bottom steering wheel along with new instrumentation and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The dashboard will have a black-beige look unlike the all-black finish on the donor. All the features will be shared with the high-end variants of the Baleno and this will ensure that the Glanza, which will be sold in G and V variants corresponding to Zeta and Alpha models of the Baleo, would offer 6 airbags as standard. The equipment list will even include a Heads-Up Display (HUD), 360-degree camera, voice assistant, connected car technology, cruise control and automatic climate contorl.

Specs & Mileage
A teaser reveals that the automatic variant of the 2022 Toyota Glanza would offer a claimed mileage of 22.9 kmpl. Also, like the new Maruti Baleno, the Glanza will be sold only with a 1.2-litre Dual-VVT four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that will output a maximum power of 90PS and a peak torque of 113Nm. The auto variant will have an AMT while the manual version will come equipped with a 5-speed gearbox.
