2022 Toyota Glanza facelift will launch on March 15 and will be based on the recently launched new Maruti Baleno
With the new Maruti Baleno making it to the market recently, it was only a matter of time before Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) fielded its own version of the new hatchback with the Glanza moniker. In line with this, the 2022 Toyota Glanza will be launched on March 15 and will carry all the goodies featured by the new premium hatchback from the country’s largest carmaker. Ahead of the official introduction, a purportedly leaked official image of the B2-hatchback has emerged online.

2022 Toyota Glanza – What’s New?
So far, the Toyota Glanza has tasted moderate success in the market, with the Baleno-based premium hatchback selling in enough numbers to outsell the Honda Jazz on a regular basis. The rebadged Maruti hatchback, along with a similarly re-badged version of the Vitara Brezza, has helped Toyota Kirloskar Motor with a higher sales momentum. In order to sustain the demand for the small car, the company will now introduce a new version based on the recently introduced vehicle.
Akin to donor model, the refreshed Glanza will feature a host of cosmetic updates along with more features that would help it take on fresher rivals. However, unlike the current version that looks almost completely like the recently replaced hatchback, the leaked image shows the upcoming car will not look much like the recently launched Baleno. Its front-end would rather have a Vios-like look with a sleek grille flanking the headlamps taken from the donor vehicle. Even the bumper will look more masculine with a chunky plastic insert giving it a bolder appeal. Also, the rear-end will carry the new twin-port headlamps that have debuted on the highly updated premium hatchback from the house of Maruti Suzuki. Other updates will include new 16-inch machined alloy wheels, new chrome trim and new bumpers.

Specs
Like before, the 2022 Toyota Glanza will be available in G and V trims comparable to Zeta and Alpha variants of the new Baleno. The interior will feature the new dashboard from the Maruti-badged sibling and will even get all the new features seen on it. These will include a bigger touchscreen infotainment unit, 360-degree camera, wireless smartphone charger, HUD and 6 airbags. Powering the updated Toyota will be the K-series 1.2-litre DualJet petrol unit that outputs a maximum of 90PS of power and 113Nm of torque. Transmission options will include 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMG, while an idle-start-stop function will help users optimize the mileage.
