The 2022 MG ZS EV comes with an updated styling package, more features and, most importantly, a bigger battery pack that boosts the driving range. The new model has been priced at Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom) and faces competition from the Hyundai Kona Electric. Some images that have emerged on social media suggest that it’s already on display at the dealerships.

ZS EV has been a global success in key markets, including the UK, Europe and Australia. Committed to the future of electric mobility in India, we ensure a superior ownership experience by building a robust & sustainable EV ecosystem. With the all-new ZS EV, we are confident to change the mindset and accelerate EV adoption in India.”
2022 MG ZS EV Exterior Updates
The updated electric car carries subtle yet purposeful changes that infuse some freshness into the EV’s aesthetics. The mid-cycle facelift for the India-spec model is in line with the European counterpart and the changes do lead to a more contemporary look. The front grille, which is chrome-studded in the outgoing version, is now completely blacked out. Meanwhile the charging socket has been moved to the left side of the MG insignia. The lighting units come from the Astor and complete the new look of the front-end. In fact, even the bumpers have been repurposed at both the ends, while the 17-inch alloy wheels have been given a dual-tone look. Unlike the current car, which is on sale in red, blue and white colour options, the paint shades for the updated model include red, white, silver and grey.
Interior
Changes for the interior will be more comprehensive. A lot will come from the Astor and the highlights of the revised dashboard will include soft-touch materials, rotary-style aircon vents and a cascading look. Like the ICE-sibling, the car will even receive a 10.1-inch infotainment unit with personal AI assistant. Other features on offer will include a 7-inch all-digital instrument panel, electric seats, panoramic electric sunroof, heated ORVMs, electronic parking brake, PM 2.5 air purifier, rain-sensing wipers and Bluetooth-powered virtual key.
The safety kit will include bits like 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, hill-descent control and traction control. Another highlight will be the new features such as a rear park assist with the 360-degree camera. However, unlike the Astor, the updated ZS EV misses out on the Level 2 ADAS package that includes automatic headlamp control, rear-drive assist, speed assist, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control and more.
