Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch a new Grand Vitara. It has launched a new teaser for the Grand Vitara 2022 Edition.
Maruti has finally released an official teaser for the 2022 Grand Vitara. This hints that the mid-size SUV is about to be launched in the Indian market. The company has partnered with Toyota for the upcoming car. As a part of their joint venture, both Maruti and Toyota will simultaneously sell it under different names (with a slight tweak on the outside and inside). The mid-size SUVs will compete with the likes of Creta and Seltos. For now, the look of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara has been revealed.

As you can see in the teaser above, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara sports an aggressive look with triple LED headlamps to look aggressive. The front grille sports a unique mesh design. The rear side features connected LED tail lamps fixed onto black horizontal slats. ‘Grand Vitara’ is written in bold on the tailgate. However, the overall silhouette looks almost similar to the Urban Cruiser Hyryder and the international S-Cross. The new car is likely to offer two trims – normal IC only and ‘Intelligent Electric Hybrid’ (works automatically but can be forced to run on pure electric power).
The highlights of the side profile include prominent wheel arches clad in black plastic. Also, the sheetmetal will comprise of clean surfaces and a few crisp creasing, thereby giving the SUV a fuss-free look. There should be dual-tone options on offer that will have the roof painted black along with the ORVMs. The overall stance of the SUV should be quite sporty and will appeal to the audiences looking for an upmarket-looking SUV with a sufficiently high road presence.

Same Specs as Toyota HyRyder
The 2022 Maruti Grand Vitara is being developed and designed by Toyota. It will be based on the Toyota HyRyder and powered by a Maruti-sourced 4-cylinder 1.5-litre K-Series engine with an AWD drivetrain. The mild-hybrid engine’s output is 102 hp and 137 Nm of peak torque. A 3-cylinder 1.5-liter engine from Toyota will come with an electric motor and a Li-Ion battery pack. The strong hybrid option will offer a combined power of 116 hp. The mid-size SUV is expected to be priced at Rs. 9,50,000 (ex-showroom). This means that it will be cheaper than Hyundai Creta’s base variant by almost a lakh Rupees
