The first walkaround video of the 2022 Maruti Baleno has surfaced hours before the launch later today. The video is shot of the Baleno parked at the stockyard and the exteriors and interiors are visible clearly. The new Baleno boasts ultra-modern features to challenge the likes of i20 and Altroz and ensure its dominance in the premium hatchback segment. It has been one of India’s top-selling cars overall and miles ahead of its rivals. This fresh look will keep the buyers interested to continue to opt for the popular offering.

2022 Maruti Baleno Video Before Launch
Deducing from the exterior design and interior features, the video captures the top Alpha trim of the Baleno. The silhouette remains similar to the current model but there are distinct modern bits to distinguish it. This includes a redesigned front grille with chrome strip, large projector LED headlamps, projector fog lamps, revised front bumper, LED DRLs. On the sides, the alloys look fairly similar to the outgoing model and there is a chrome belt running underneath the window line. The rear also features some modern bits like split-LED taillamps, a thick chrome bar on the boot lid like in the current model, and slight modifications to the overall appearance. All in all, the shape and body design are similar but modern additions are evident too.
Interior and Features
There are quite a few significant changes to the inside of the premium hatchback. The overall layout of the dashboard and centre console is slightly updated but the most noticeable addition is the segment-first heads-up display and a 360-degree camera for enhanced convenience. Apart from that, the steering wheel is new with controls, there is a free-standing touchscreen for Smartplay Pro+ infotainment with connectivity functions, AC vents are new as well, there are rear AC vents too. The 2022 Maruti Baleno has attempted to attract young customers with some unique comfort and convenience features.

Specs
There will not be any changes to the existing powertrain options, as far as we can tell. This means that the new Baleno will continue getting the 1.2-litre petrol engine and the same engine will smart hybrid technology that will produce 83 hp and 88 hp respectively. The torque for both variants remains 113 Nm. There will be options of 5-speed manual and automatic transmissions. The expected prices will be in the vicinity of Rs 6.50 lakh and Rs 10 lakh, ex-showroom.
