The Maruti Baleno is one of the most successful premium hatchbacks in the Indian market. Now, it is all set to get a new update. The next-generation Maruti Baleno will feature an evolved design with modern aesthetics. Additionally, it will come with six airbags and a strengthened platform. The 2022 Maruti Baleno is heavier by 70 Kgs, which is pretty much in line with the company’s aim of providing better crash worthiness. 2022 Maruti Baleno vs Current Baleno Mileage Comparison
As per recent leaks, the 2022 Maruti Baleno offers a mileage of 22.35 kmpl with manual transmission and 22.94 km of the AMT variant. The new model will feature the same will only get a hybrid 1.2-liter powertrain engine. The decline in mileage (by 1.5 kmpl) could be due to an increase in the weight of the new Baleno. The gross vehicle weight of the new car has gone up by 70 kgs to 1,410 kgs. This clearly hints at a stronger build and the company’s aim to offer a safer car. It seems Maruti is hellbent to achieve a 5-star score in Global NCAP ratings. We will have to wait and see if this comes to be true.
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno 2022 has a familiar look but still looks fresh. On the front, you can see a wider grille with a more sophisticated pair of LED headlights. The rear quarter glass also features new chrome trim. It will also come with refreshed interior theme and upholstery. The climate control will feature new toggle switches. The upcoming car will get a new set of alloy wheels, 6 airbags, a flat-bottom steering wheel, an AMT gearbox, and cruise control. You will get a 360-degree parking camera, Heads Up Display (HUD), a wireless smartphone charger, a colored MID for the instrument cluster, Alexa support, and a new dashboard with a free-standing 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit.

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno was first launched in 2015. The current gen is powered by a 1.2-liter Dualjet Dual-VVT petrol engine that offers a maximum power of 90 PS and a peak torque of 113 Nm. It is paired with a standard 5-speed MT and an optional CVT. The 1.2-liter Dualjet petrol engine with mild-hybrid tech offers 90PS 113Nm. It is paired with a 5-speed MT. It comes with LED projector headlights, a rearview camera, 16-inch alloy wheels, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, auto climate control, push-button stop/start, and keyless entry. Safety features include rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and dual front airbags.
