With Hyundai Creta facelift slated for a launch later this year, it’s only a matter of time before the 2022 Kia Seltos facelift is rolled out
Launched in 2019, the Kia Seltos was a runaway success. Its domination of the C-SUV segment continued until the advent of the second-gen Hyundai Creta in 2020. Even today, the Seltos is a force to reckon with. However, with the advent of many new rivals, age has suddenly caught up and both the Korean SUVs have lost some of their sheen. No wonder, then, that facelifts of both the vehicles have been programmed for a launch later this year. Let’s take a look at what the 2022 Kia Seltos facelift could bring to the table –

2022 Kia Seltos Facelift Launch Date
Even though the Kia Seltos was launched a year before the latest Hyundai Creta, it has already received a couple of minor updates. The latest of these happened as recently as in April 2022. Therefore, the facelift is very likely to arrive after the roll out of the updated Hyundai Creta. We’re looking at a really late-2022 launch here.
Styling Updates
The few spy shots we have seen until now have made it clear that the updated version will feature a revised front-end. The updates here will include a new bumper, wider grille and new headlamps. The side profile will stay largely untouched except for the change of the alloy wheels. The rear-end should feature a new bumper and new taillamps. A few new colour options could be introduced.

2022 Kia Seltos Facelift Interior Features
Not much is known about the interior of the facelift. But an upholstery change along with a longer features list should be on the cards. The car should get all-digital instrumentation but the most important update will come in the form of the Level-1 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). This help the Seltos keep potential customers away from the MG Astor and the Mahindra XUV700.
Safety
The India-spec Kia Seltos scored a less-than-impressive 3 star score in the Global NCAP’s Safer Cars for India program. This is in a stark contrast with the 5-star rating of the Australia-spec model from the ANCAP. The difference is simply due to the Indian model being based on a watered down platform (SP2i vs SP2). It’s almost a given that the facelift will not see any change in this aspect. Even all of the current safety features will be carried over. These include – six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), and hill-assist control (HAC). The introduction of ADAS, though, will definitely make the C-SUV a tad safer.

2022 Kia Seltos Facelift Specs
Even the specs are likely to stay untouched. The current engine options – 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel and a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol motor – will be retained. The 1.5-litre motors output 115PS each, while the turbo-petrol engine belts out 140PS. All the motors come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard. However, the 1.5-litre petrol engine comes with a CVT option. The diesel and turbo-petrol engines are on sale with 6-speed torque-converter and 7-speed DCT option, respectively.
