Mahindra and Mahindra is one of the only two carmakers to record positive growth in sales in April 2021 compared to March 2021. The ongoing pandemic has caused havoc once again and India is suffering a lot. Hence, the overall industry is down, just like every other sector in the country. Amidst all this, Mahindra has somehow been able to see a jump in sales on a month-on-month basis from March to April. Whereas in March, Mahindra sold just over 16,500 units, in April, it managed to sell over 18,000 units. Obviously, all the sales for Mahindra come from the SUVs and there are plenty of new SUVs slated for launch this year as well. One of these is the new 2021 Mahindra Bolero, likely to be named Bolero Neo. Now, Bolero has been one of the earliest SUVs from the carmaker in our market and is known for being a tough and rugged utility vehicle with ladder-on-frame chassis. Let us take a look at what the leaked images tell us about the upcoming SUV.

2021 Mahindra Bolero- Exteriors
The exteriors of the new Bolero don’t seem to be too far off from the current model on sale. In terms of the overall appearance, the new Bolero will likely retain to tough and rugged stance with a tall bonnet line and sturdy looks. There might be redesigned bumpers, headlamps and other bits to make it look a bit modern, but there won’t be any radical changes in the exteriors. This implies that the Bolero Neo will continue with the ladder frame chassis which will lend it a ton of off-roading capabilities. That is primarily how people have used it since it was first launched in our market about two decades ago. Catered to the semi-urban and rural population it has plenty of utilitarian aspects to entice a ton of people to go for the Bolero.

2021 Mahindra Bolero- Interiors
The interiors of the new Bolero might also not been too radically different than what is being offered on the current-gen model. However, there might be some modern elements to make sure that it belongs to 2021. This might include features like better Infotainment Connectivity with USB, AUX and Bluetooth Setup, Digital or Semi-digital Instrument Cluster for the driver, redesigned dashboard and other bits, plenty of storage compartments and more. The safety aspects might include ABS with EBD, Dual Airbags, Rear Parking Sensors, Parking Camera, Seat Belt Reminder and more.

2021 Mahindra Bolero- Expected Engines, Prices and Rivals
The Mahindra Bolero Neo is most likely to come with a BS6 compliant 1.5-litre diesel engine making 75 hp and 210 Nm. This engine might come with a 5-speed manual transmission. We might also see a 5-speed AMT on offer to enhance the convenience quotient of the Bolero Neo. The rivals of the Mahindra Bolero Neo might not be too many. Sure, it falls in the category of compact SUVs but the purpose and usage of this product will be completely different than the ”natural” rivals in form of Sonet, Venue, XUV300, Nexon and Brezza. Therefore, it might well be a sole player in the rural SUV space for now.
