The 2020 Suzuki Swift facelift packs in some interior and exterior cosmetic changes along with some more added equipment. The India-spec Swift facelift could however be more significant.
Just a few days ago, we reported to you with a leaked image of the 2020 Suzuki Swift facelift for the international market. Now, Suzuki has gone ahead and officially revealed the 2020 Swift facelift internationally. The updated Swift features very mild cosmetic changes on the outside and minor revisions to the interiors as well. There has been some additions in terms of equipment as well. The updated Swift officially gone on sale in Japan.
The changes are not so evident right in first glance but the keen eyed amongst you will notice the new honeycomb mesh grille with a chrome strip running in between. The bumper also features some mild alterations but the rest of the face looks pretty much unchanged including the headlights. In profile, the hatchbacks has gained new alloy wheels but there are no other changes. The rear of the car also remains mostly identical including the tail lamp units but the rear bumper has been slightly revised for a more sportier look.
Just like the exterior, the changes on the inside aren’t so evident right at first glance. However, if you look closely, you will see that Suzuki has made minor revisions to the dashboard design and trim, along with new seat fabrics, upholstery and headliners too. In terms of equipment, the updated Swift also gets paddle shifters and a 360-degree parking camera on the higher spec variants of the car.

You can expect these revisions on the India-spec Swift very soon, probably by the end of the year. Internationally, Suzuki offers a range of engines on the Swift which includes a 1.2L petrol engine, a 1.2L mild-hybrid petrol engine and even a full hybrid model. In India however, we do not expect Maruti Suzuki to offer any mechanical changes on the new Swift facelift. Currently in India, the Swift is powered by a BS6-compliant 1.2L K12B petrol engine that produces 83hp and 113Nm of torque. The gearbox options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT.

There are speculations however that the Swift facelift could get the 1.2L DualJet petrol motor from the Baleno that produces 90hp and 113Nm of torque. That could also mean that it could also be offered with Maruti Suzuki’s mild hybrid technology. It remains to be seen if Maruti brings this version to India. The current version of the Swift retails from Rs 5.19 lakh to Rs 8.02 lakh in India. The facelifted model having been debuted internationally, it could make it to India soon.
