The 2020 Range Rover Evoque gets evolutionary design, brand new interiors and BS6 2.0L petrol and diesel engines with price going up to Rs. 59.85 lakhs.
Land Rover has launched the second-generation Range Rover Evoque in India today. The Range Rover Evoque will be available in two variants in India – S and R Dynamic SE – and it will come with two engine options – one petrol and one diesel. The price for the entry level petrol S variant of the 2020 Range Rover Evoque starts from Rs 54.94 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India) and goes up to Rs 59.85 lakh for the diesel R Dynamic SE variant.
The previous-gen Evoque was on sale in India for Rs 52.06-61.94 lakh for the petrol versions and Rs 52.06-62.96 lakh for the diesel models. With this second generation model, the base price has gone up by about Rs. 2.9 lakhs but the new range-topping variant – the Evoque D180 R-Dynamic SE – is about Rs. 3.11 lakhs less than the previously available top-spec HSE Dynamic variant. Deliveries for the diesel models will begin immediately while the deliveries for the petrol model will start a little later.
The new Range Rover zevoque is powered by JLR’s Ingenium line of BS6-complaint petrol and diesel engines. The diesel is a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-diesel unit (D180) which produces 180hp and 430Nm of torque, while the petrol (P250) is a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol unit that produces 249 bhp and even gets an optional 48V mild-hybrid system. Both the engines come mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox and power is of course sent to all four wheels. The new Evoque sits on a brand new platform and it has been designed with electrification in mind.
Visually, the new Evoque has seen a evolution is terms of design and draws inspiration from the Velar. The sharp lines of the Evoque are now gone for more rounded off edges. The front end features a new sleeker headlamp design, redesigned bumpers wit a much more neat design and a new grille as well. On the side, the Evoque maintains its overall silhouette but now gets Velar-like pop-out door handles. At the back, the Evoque gets a new bumper and new tail-lights that mimic the Velar’s.
