The upcoming Mercedes C Class is expected to retain the four and six-cylinder engine options and may also introduce a 48 V mild hybrid option.
Mercedes has always been known for its sophisticated design and same follows for the five-year-old current-gen C Class which made its debut in 2014. The sedan still looks fresh with the modern approach and gets some quirky features and tech on the inside.
Now come to 2020, Mercedes will introduce a new C Class which not only packs new design approach but also comes with a tesla like large touchscreen infotainment unit. In addition, the upcoming W206 borrows bits from the S Class.
The spy shots revealed some details about the cabin and sure it looks like a scaled-down version of their flagship sedan, the S Class. The large touchscreen unit of 2020 Mercedes C Class sits on the bottom of the centre console and the dashboard is similar to the older sibling.

The fully digital instrument cluster with old-school design air-con vents, climate control interface and will feature the latest Mercedes’MBUX infotainment system.
The upcoming model is underpinned by the MRA2 platform which makes it larger and thus accounting for more cabin space. The styling details of the sedan gets bolder and more aggressive looks on the front and rear ends. Also, it picks up some styling elements from the CLS.
Under the hood, we expect the four and six cylinders to continue with better emission performance. Also, we can expect a 48V mild hybrid tech as well as PHEV versions in global markets.

The current generation Mercedes C Class sells at Rs 39.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base trim. It competes with the likes of Audi A4, Jaguar XE and BMW 3 series. The prices for the new generation will be a little higher than the current model.
