Latest reports suggest that 2020 Mahindra Thar Petrol manual and automatic variants are having more waiting period than the diesel counterparts.
New Mahindra Thar is one of the biggest launches in India this year. The new Thar is currently very popular and the waiting period is increasing by the day. As last reported by us, buyers booking the Thar now will have to wait till next year to get it. The deliveries just commenced on 1st November, with the Auctioned Thar delivered first.
As per this video which comes from Jammu and Kashmir, a dealership reveals that the wait for 2020 Mahindra Thar petrol variants is higher. Their deliveries will be further delayed by some weeks. As for the diesel variants, their delivery schedule remains on time for now. However, many people who have booked the Thar revealed that their schedules have moved ahead by a month.

Mahindra Thar comes with a petrol and a diesel engine, which is also a first timer for the brand. A 2.0 Litre NA petrol engine producing 150 BHP and a 2.2 Litre turbo-diesel engine producing 130 BHP power the SUV. Gearbox options include a 6-speed manual stick and a 6-speed torque converter AT.
Thar comes in LX and AX variants, the latter being the base variants. It comes with steel wheels and misses out on infotainment system, cruise control and even roll-over bar. LX variants come with alloy wheels, a 7-inch touchscreen system, cruise control, roll-over control bar, Real Time Adventure Statistics, Automatic AC and Electronic Differential locking.
Prices of Thar start at Rs 9.80 Lakhs up to Rs 13.75 Lakhs for the top-end diesel automatic variant. The AX variants only come with a Soft top roof, you can choose between Hard Top and Convertible Roof in the LX variants. Mahindra also offers customization packs and tons of accessories with the Thar.
